Kyle Korver turns down invite for 3-point contest

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Hawks guard Kyle Korver has declined an invitation to participate in the 3-point shooting contest at All-Star Weekend later this month.

The sweet-shooting guard told the paper he wants to use the weekend to spend more time with his wife and young daughter.

Korver has participated in the event twice in his NBA career and has never won it.

However much Atlanta fans — hell, fans of nice-looking jump shots period – would like to see Korver enter the contest and shatter some records, he has a far more impressive (and more important) shooting accomplishment to think about. Korver extended his ridiculous streak of consecutive games with a made three-pointer to a whopping 114 in Atlanta’s blowout win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night. Assuming he maintains the streak until All-Star Weekend, giving that scorching-hot shooting hand of his a few extra nights of rest would probably be beneficial.
