Manny Machado cleared to resume baseball activities

The Baltimore Orioles hope to have Manny Machado back in their everyday lineup early in the season, if not by Opening Day. The team continues to receive good news about his rehab progress, and another significant hurdle was cleared on Friday.

According to Stephania Bell of ESPN, Machado has been cleared to resume baseball activities. Bell spoke with Machado’s doctor (Dr. Neal ElAttrache), who said the following:

He has worked exceptionally hard to get where he is. And we haven’t rushed him. It’s just a function of who he is as an athlete…He can hit, he can field ground balls, he can run.”
