The San Francisco Giants haven’t changed their main uniforms all that much over the course of their franchise history, but the same can’t be said for their alternates.
The Giants – especially given their recent success – have worn alternate uniforms for the past few seasons, but will add a new one to their arsenal this year.
Shortstop Brandon Crawford debuted the new look during the Giants’ Fan Fest on Friday afternoon which features an all-orange jersey and an old school Giants script across the chest.
San Francisco wore two alternates last season – a grey road alternate and an ‘Orange Friday’ jersey, which as you guessed, was all orange. That uniform however featured the traditional Giants script found on their everyday jersey. This particular one will pay homage to the Giants of the 80′s while keeping the orange theme going strong.
Pretty flash threads if I say so myself, but I like them.
Both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs have also released new alternate uniforms this season – though they were both road grey unlike the Giants’ bright home orange.
