Which leads us to Seattle Seahawks starting quarterback Russell Wilson and corner-back Richard Sherman.

It still confuses me on why the Jacksonville Jaguars or any other team decided to pass up on Wilson. I mean I’m sure they didn’t expect him to be the game changer he is today, but what’s done is done.

Now as a Chicago Bears fan (look at the picture of my face below), I have nothing but respect for the Seattle Seahawks. I may give their fans a hard time away from work, but they are still one of the most exciting teams to watch. I had the NFL Sunday Ticket for free from DirecTV this year and always switched between my Bears games to see what they were up too.

Not only are they explosive on offense, but their defense is absolutely awesome. Nothing but talent from the first string down to the guys who work on special teams. Led by a coach who has done a wonderful job (Carroll), this team deserves nothing but success.

Finally Seattle fans have something to cheer about.

First guy up is starting quarterback Russell Wilson. This is Wilson’s second year and he’s already showing signs of shattering records within the next 10 years with this team. Right now he has a career 6,475 passing yards, 52 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.

The franchise leader in touchdowns and yards as of right now is Matt Hasselbeck with 29,434 yards and 174 touchdowns. Wilson currently ranks sixth on the list of quarterbacks who have worn a Seattle Seahawks uniform.

I thought for sure when the Seahawks drafted Wilson, that he was going to be taking a back seat to Matt Flynn. Flynn is someone that I like, even though he started off with the Green Bay Packers.

This guy has everything you want in a franchise quarterback. Not only is he smart on the field, but he’s an amazing human being. I know somewhere down the line he’s going to be voted as one of the most, if not the most respected player in the league just like his future Hall of Fame opponent, Peyton Manning.

I really do praise this kid and this defense, but I don’t feel as if this is their time just yet. He has a superb record of 24-8, with tough losses coming from the San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts this year.

It’s clear that Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson have bright futures in this league. I stood strong behind RG3, but he’s not really the same after he suffered the knee injury. It’s one thing to recover and come back when you’re in college, but professional football is a totally different story.

Wilson in my opinion will be a member of the Hall of Fame when he’s eligible. I just hope nothing serious happens to him that alters his style of play just like the knee injury did to RG3 in Washington. This kid is exactly what this league needs to lead the charge.

Not only is he becoming the face of the Seattle Seahawks, but he’ll eventually become the face of the National Football League. There’s not much you can say about him because he hasn’t been in the league for that long. But I can tell you one thing, he has a chance to go out there on Sunday and show the league that this team will be the best team in the NFC for a very long time.

Now with Wilson out of the way, let’s shine the spotlight on someone who has received some negative attention after his post-game outburst after defeating the San Francisco 49ers.

Right now I see Richard Sherman as the best corner-back in the league. I know I messed up by ranking him as low as I did for NFL Spin Zone before pre-season began, but the man continues to back up every word he says.

He truly is the best defensive player today (Patrick Peterson is a close first), and will have his names thrown into the mix when it comes to discussing some of the greatest shut down corners in NFL history.

What most people don’t like about him, is how outspoken he is. The guy is very confident, as well he should be. He’s made a lot of huge plays for this Seattle Seahawks team and is a big reason why this team is where they are at today.

In just three years, Sherman has 169 tackles and 20 interceptions. He has back to back eight interception seasons and has taken at least one to the house in as many years. There’s no question that the man is in fact a ball Hawk.

Richard ranks sixth in franchise history with 20 interceptions. He’s currently one behind Marcus Trufant and 30 away from tying the great Dave Brown who sits at the top of the list with 50.

Teammate Earl Thomas has 15 and sits at the number 14 spot in Seattle’s record book.

Just thinking about this game gives me goosebumps. You have the best offense and solid defense on one side and a solid offense and the best defense in the league on the other. They both finished with the same records and lost close games.

You have Russell Wilson who will look to challenge Champ Bailey and Peyton Manning who will throw in Sherman’s direction. No matter the outcome,  these four guys will meet before and after the game to shake hands and or congratulate one another.

Time may be running out for these legends taking the field on Sunday, but it feels good to know that the future is brighter than ever. This game will go down as one of the best Super Bowl’s in league history.

Super Bowl XLVIII ladies and gentlemen. It doesn’t get any better than this.

My final score:

Denver Broncos 31

Seattle Seahawks 30
