The Syracuse Orange landed a pair of commitments over the weekend, earning pledges from 3-star outside linebacker Jonathan Thomas and 2-star athlete Antwan Cody.
Thomas is a 6’3, 210-pound outside linebacker that attends Collins Hill in Suwanee, Georgia. He chose Syracuse over the Oklahoma Sooners, Cincinnati Bearcats, Indiana Hoosiers and Marshall Thundering Heard, among several others. He is rated as the country’s 48th best outside linebacker according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
2-star athlete Antwan Cordy also made his pledge to the Orange.
Cordy is a 5’9, 180-pound athlete that attends South Dade High School in Homestead, Florida.
He is considered the 190th best athlete and 347th best player in the state of Florida according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings. Cordy also had offers from the Akron Zips, Duke Blue Devils and a couple of local schools in the Florida International Panthers and Florida Atlantic Owls.
The Orange now have 21 commitments for the class of 2014, including two early enrollees, wide receiver Corey Cooper and quarterback A.J. Long. According to 24/7 Sports composite rankings, they have the 11th best class in the ACC and the 52nd best class in the country.
