Capping of what was probably the most exciting day of college basketball thus far this season, the Cal Golden Bears defeated the number one ranked Arizona Wildcats on Saturday night, 60-58, ending the Wildcats’ bid for an unbeaten season.

With the game tied at 58 and time running out in regulation, Justin Cobbs hit a jumper with one second to go to put the Wildcats away for good, and knock head coach Sean Miller and the Wildcats from the top slot in the rankings.

For Cal, David Kravish led the way in the upset, dropping in 14 points and adding in 11 rebounds and four assists. Cobbs nearly joined him in the double-double category, finishing the night with 19 points and seven assists.

Arizona knew they were in a fight right from the get-go, going into the half down 30-29. Cal never relented in the second half and were able to pull off the monumental upset of the weekend.

With the win, Cal now improves to 15-7 on the season, while the first loss of the year drops Arizona to 21-1.

The loss will also drop the Wildcats from that number one spot in the rankings, which will now be occupied by the Syracuse Orange, who won an instant classic earlier in the evening against the Duke Blue Devils.
