Canoe Polo looks to be very painful (Video)

Before you say anything – yes – I’m fully aware these are not canoes but rather kayaks. That said, those who play the sport often call it ‘Canoe Polo’.

Now that we’re all settled there – the sport apparently began back in the 1970′s and has grown in popularity since. In fact, there’s even a World Championship held every two years. Bet you didn’t know that, right?

I’m sure it’s a blast to watch, but play? Well, maybe. Yes – it looks neat as it’s a combination of water polo and kayaking, but it’s all fun and games until somebody rides their kayak up on the opposition and attempts to decapitate them.

Ouch. Absolutely brutal.

The alleged cameraman, who posted the video on YouTube said that’s the entirety of the clip as he rushed to help the kayaker who shockingly remained upright (thankfully) and alert.

I probably didn’t need any encouragement not to participate in Canoe Polo, but I think this video sealed the deal if I had any lingering doubts.
