To put a winning product on the field, you need good players. And more times than not (barring a stroke of luck), those talented players are expensive. Thus – the cost gets passed on to you, the fans.

That’s exactly what’s happening to Los Angeles Dodgers fans as the team abruptly raised ticket prices by as much as 140 percent in some seating areas.

Per the Los Angeles Times:

When the Dodgers announced late Friday that they had put an “extremely limited” number of season tickets on sale, they did not say they had imposed significant price increases on nearly every one of those tickets.

The Dodgers now are charging as much as 140% more than the season price set last fall. They increased the price in each of the 20 ticket categories made available Friday, and by at least 50% in 10 of them.

Of course, not all seats had their ticket prices rise – but if you want something good instead of the bleachers (some of which jumped from $5 dollars to $12 dollars), well, chances are you’re going to be paying more to watch the Dodgers this season.
