NBA Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns talking Pau Gasol trade?

Could the Los Angeles Lakers send Pau Gasol to a division rival? Seems a little far fetched, but according to ESPN’s Marc Stein, it’s a complete possibility as the Suns are currently looking into the feasibility of such a deal.

The Suns have been more than open about their buying stance come the upcoming NBA trade deadline, though, it’s difficult to predict as to what the Suns would be parting with. They do have a handful of first round picks, so it’s possible they could send a draft selection along with Emeka Okafor (expiring contract) for Gasol – though that’s nothing more than pure speculation.

Gasol would certainly qualify as the ‘big piece’ the Suns are looking for and he also won’t hurt their cap space financially moving forward, so it’s a move that seemingly makes sense on their part. As for the Lakers, if they could get an equally as large expiring in return alongside a draft pick – hard to say no to that given their current lottery-bound situation.

All Laker fan’s need to understand that we can get a super top pick for free, all we have to do is keep playing the way we are playing & we end up with a top 3 or 5 pick & don’t have to give up anything in return……
We need to also do this deal with the Sun’s for the expiring contract plus TWO (2) first round picks…. We also need to talk to the Warriors about sending them a great point back up called Steve Blake & package him with Johnson….. In return we want Harrison Barnes & a pick…..
We need to package Kaman as well & send him off for picks as well……
Not sure who/what/when but the Cav’s are in trouble with Irving & Waitor’s, both very unhappy being in Cleveland…. I have no clue what it would take BUT IF EVER THERE WERE A PLAYER WHO SHOULD BE IN PURPLE & GOLD, IF EVER THERE WERE A PLAYER WHO CAN TAKE AHOLD OF THE KOBE BANNER, IT’S IRVING….. The Lakers should without question be very interested in trying to get this future great point guard….. If Irving is unavailable then they need to go after Waiter’s….
Lastly if Mitch can work with Philly that would also be a good deal since they have (4) picks in the upcoming draft……
P.S. It finally looks like Kobe is getting smart & will NOT come back this season…
