Philip Seymour Hoffman’s family issues statement on death

On Sunday morning, news surfaced that actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his Manhattan home at the age of 46 due to an apparent drug overdose.

As everyone looks for answers, Hoffman’s family has issued a statement to thank everyone for their support, but requesting privacy as they handle the matter.

“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Phil and appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received from everyone,” his family said in a statement. “This is a tragic and sudden loss and we ask that you respect our privacy during this time of grieving. Please keep Phil in your thoughts and prayers.”

Hoffman is survived by his partner, Mimi O’Donnell, and their three children, daughters Willa and Tallulah, and a son, Cooper.
