One of the most polarizing figure in the Super Bowl is Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, who has made it no secret that he thinks he’s the best player in the game. But while Sherman is a cornerback we’ve rarely seen in the game, as Peyton Manning is electing to not throw to him, we saw him go down on a play that caused Seahawks fans to jump out of their seats in fear.

Sherman went down on a play in the early third quarter after scary hit looked to bend his knee the wrong way. The Seahawks cornerback went down in pain and had to be attended to by the medical staff and had to be helped off the field.

Thankfully for Seahawks fans, Sherman wasn’t hurt too bad on the play and only had to miss the very next play before coming back into the game. Up 29-0, the Seahawks have a nice cushion but losing Sherman at any point in this game could be devastating.

Luckily for Seahawks fans, the injury wasn’t serious and he has since returned to the game.

*UPDATE* Late in the fourth quarter Sherman got hurt again and needed to be carted off the field
