Super Bowl 48: Skittles sold out in Seattle stores (Photo)

Are you hoping to buy some Skittles for your Super Bowl party and you just so happen to live in the Seattle area? I’ve got some bad news – you’re likely out of luck.

Local stores in the area have been bombarded in recent days and the supply of the fruity candy has dwindled to almost nothing as multiple stores are reporting they are sold out.

The Bartell Drug store, where the above photo was taken, was just one of many local shops (which include Target, CVS, Rite-Aid) to report that their stock was near depletion or completely exasperated.

In addition to the ‘normal’ Skittles, which are all but sold out across the city, the special edition green and navy blue Skittles (which were not publicly released) have been fetching prices over $200 dollars on eBay this week.

If only I had paid attention a little more during that high school cooking class, I could have whipped out some food coloring and painted some Skittles. But no, I made the choice to sleep. Silly me.
