Recording artist Bruno Mars is set to perform at halftime of Super Bowl XLVIII between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium. The decision to name Bruno Mars as the halftime reporter has been met with some mixed reactions, but we learn in a matter of hours whether or not the league made the right decision by giving him the honors of performing on the league’s biggest stage.

While some NFL fans may be skeptical about how Bruno Mars will fit in to the Super Bowl production, he is ready and excited to put on a great show.

“No matter where I perform, it’s my job to uplift the people — whether I’m performing at a graduation party, wedding, bar mitzvah, Grammys, Super Bowl, I’m gonna give it all I got,” Mars said, via the Hollywood Reporter. “I don’t trapeze and all that stuff. I hope to get people dancing and get people smiling. If you ever come to my shows, it’s just us up there with these songs and our instruments. I hope that’s enough.”
