AAC basketball power rankings: Week 13

After this past week in the American Athletic Conference, we are now more than certain that the Cincinnati Bearcats are the undeniable class of the conference.

This past week, the Bearcats faced what would be their toughest test to date when they took on the defending national champion Louisville Cardinals, and they passed with flying colors.

What have been more impressive from this team was not just the victory itself, but the fact that they were able to squeak out a close one. They owned a big advantage in the second half, which Louisville came back and erased, as they tend to do often.

But, this Cincy team didn’t curl up and die, rather they fought back punch-for-punch with Pitino and the champs and walked out victorious, proving that they are the top dog in the AAC at the moment.

So, where does everyone else stack up behind them? Let’s have a look at the power rankings for the American Athletic for Week 13:

  1. Cincinnati Bearcats
  2. Louisville Cardinals
  3. Memphis Tigers
  4. Southern Methodist Mustangs
  5. UConn Huskies
  6. Houston Cougars
  7. Rutgers Scarlet Knights
  8. Central Florida Knights
  9. South Florida Bulls
  10. Temple Owls
