The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Enemies Unite in New Sizzle Reel (Video)

Last night during Super Bowl XLVIII, the good people at Sony Pictures gave us a look at a brand new trailer for the upcoming film The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Now, we have a closer look at the villains of the film that shows the enemies as they unite against their common enemy, Spider-Man.

Just in case you’re not up to date on the premise of the latest installation in The Amazing Spider-Man series, here is the official synopsis of the film courtesy of IMDb.com.

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.”

As I said before, the new “Enemies Unite Sizzle Reel” gives us a much closer look at the villains of the film; none more so than Electro. We get to see Max Dillon, played in the film by Jamie Foxx, as he is saved on the street by Spider-Man. During the rescue, Spider-Man tells Dillon that he is his eyes and ears. Dillon is so captivated by Spider-Man and what he had done for him that he becomes borderline-obsessed with the web slinger. However, a very unfortunate accident pushes Dillon over the edge when he is transformed into Electro.

We also get a slightly more intimate look at Peter’s best friend Harry Osborn, who is played in the film by Dane DeHaan, as makes his descent as the ominous Green Goblin. We also get a peek at Aleksei Sytsevich, played in the film by Paul Giamatti, who will ultimately become the force known as The Rhino.

There is plenty of action to be had in the film, and if the story is half as good as the visuals seem thus far, then we are going to be in for one heck of a ride.
