Hoping to see Andrew Bynum hit the floor with the Indiana Pacers? You’re going to be waiting a few weeks as head coach Frank Vogel says Bynum won’t be allowed to play until he’s practice with the team for a couple of weeks.
The Pacers signed free agent center Andrew Bynum on Saturday morning, but head coach Frank Vogel said before Saturday’s game that the former All-Star will not play for the Pacers on Monday night. He’s unlikely to join the team before the middle of the week, and Vogel said Bynum might not play in a game until he’s practiced with the team for a couple weeks.
Bynum’s been out of the game a month and the Pacers have no need to rush him considering they signed him for a postseason run, so getting in practice time seems like a smart move on Vogel’s part.
How effective Bynum will be for the Pacers remains to be seen, but having a handful of practices under his belt will only help him and the team moving forward.
