NBA Rumors: Carlos Boozer unhappy with Tom Thibodeau benching him

It appears Carlos Boozer is not happy with Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau.

The veteran power forward has found himself stapled to the bench in the fourth quarter lately, especially in close games. That hasn’t set well with the former Duke product who expressed frustration regarding the rotation.

Boozer on 4th Q minutes: “I think I should be out there but it’s (Thibs’) choice. He makes the decisions out there. I play, he coaches …He’s been doing that a lot since I’ve been here, not putting me in the 4th qtr. Sometimes we win, but more times than not we don’t”

In fairness, Boozer didn’t completely go off the handle on Thibodeau (smart choice), though, he’s obviously unhappy with how things have played out and dropped a backhand there at the end.

Nick Friedell, who reported the comments, went on to say that Boozer is one of the most media-savvy players on the Bulls and his comments won’t sit well with the front office or Thibodeau.

IMO: Boozer’s comments are being blown out of proportion, and likely taken out of context to make them sound confrontational (I would assume the “Sometimes we win, but more times than not we don’t…” is in answer to a follow up question.) I am also going to guess (since I didn’t catch the game) that Boozer played in the fourth, with Noah tossed, and he was probably defending his play, more than criticizing the coach.

Boozer has been playing pretty well for the Bulls, he has never lived up to his contract, but that’s the fault of management for giving it to him (No Wade? No Lebron? Can’t even nab Bosh? Who’s left?) The majority of couch GMs, and several reporters have been crying out to amnesty him since that became part of the collective bargaining agreement.

Cheers for the blog BRYAN ROSE, and thumbs up for having the credibility to report it as a rumor.
