NBA Rumors: Chicago Bulls unlikely to trade Taj Gibson?

A few days ago, reports leaked suggesting the Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte Bobcats and Washington Wizards all made trade offers for Chicago Bulls power forward Taj Gibson.

None of the offers were intriguing enough for the Bulls to pull the trigger and according to Susan Bible, it’s doubtful they’ll trade Gibson at all.

I don’t believe they are trying to trade him. The Bulls are answering calls, like every other NBA team, but I can’t see them moving Gibson. It doesn’t make sense with him being the heir-apparent to Boozer.

Gibson re-signed with the Bulls in 2012 and is on a relatively team friendly contract (at least in regards to the pay scale of big men in the NBA). Add in that the Bulls are reportedly set to use the amnesty clause on Carlos Boozer at season end, they’d be ridding themselves of their power forward of the future.

The Lakers, Bobcats nor Wizards have any youthful forward the Bulls could replace Gibson with in a trade, so Bible’s feeling the Bulls won’t make any moves regarding the former USC Trojan makes sense.
