All things considered, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish had a successful run in 2013, just one season removed from an undefeated regular season and an appearance in the BCS National Championship Game. Dealing with the loss of their starting QB, Everett Golson, to a suspension, they inserted Tommy Rees and capped off the season with a win over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in the Pinstripe Bowl.

But, the fact remains that that 2013 appearance in the national championship game put this program back on its high standards, putting the pressure on head coach Brian Kelly and his coaching staff to win on the recruiting trail to continue the success on the football field.

According to 247 Sports, the Irish currently own the ninth best recruiting class overall, with two players enrolled early and 20 hard commits.
