With the hiring of James Franklin, it’s the dawning of a new era in Happy Valley for the Penn State Nittany Lions. One of the reasons that the entire fan base were excited about the hire is the proven track record of Franklin on the recruiting trail while he was at Vanderbilt.

Using his recruiting tactics, Franklin was able to bring the Commodores from the depths of the SEC to being a nine-win team, two seasons in a row.

He now takes over one of the more recognizable football programs in the country and is tasked with battling the likes of Urban Meyer and Brady Hoke on the recruiting trail up north.

With that, let’s have a look at the five must-have recruits that Franklin needs to have sign on the dotted line come Wednesday for the Nittany Lions:
