Some may say the real Super Bowl took place two weeks ago in Seattle when the Seahawks defeated the San Francisco 49ers in a thrilling NFC Championship game.

That would include Richard Sherman, who told MMQB that he feels the 49ers are the second best team in the NFL – not the Denver Broncos, the reigning AFC Champions.

"He hates to admit it, but says “the NFC Championship was the Super Bowl. The 49ers were the second-best team in the NFL.”"

In reality, it’s difficult to disagree with Sherman.

Make no mistake, the Broncos had an off day – there’s no doubt about that. But that was a complete beat down across the board and it was San Francisco who was finger tips away from a second consecutive Super Bowl birth.

Sherman and his Seahawks may not like the 49ers (a mutual feeling between the two organizations), but at least he can give credit where credit is due.

Unless you’re Michael Crabtree.
