While the scoreboard said the Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl XLVIII, the actual winner was NFL legend Joe Namath. Actually, the true winner was his coat.

Many saw Namath in the coyote-based jacket during his brief appearance in Fox’s pre-game skit, but thought it was just that – a skit. However, when Namath appeared for Super Bowl 48’s coin flip, the jacket came with sending social media into a frenzy.

But it almost didn’t happen as TMZ spoke to Marc Kaufman of Marc Kaufman Furs who said Namath picked up the jacket just days before the big game.

Kaufman says Namath and his daughter came in the store looking for the perfect jacket and that’s when they found it:

"That’s when Joe noticed a white stunner on one of the racks — which was comprised of a coyote-base mixed some white fox. We’re told Joe said, “This is perfect for me” … and decided he had to have it.Kaufman says the coat ran Joe a cool $3,000."

Best $3,000 bucks Joe has ever spent, I’m guessing.
