Tyler Kennedy has missed two straight contests for the San Jose Sharks with a lower-body injury, but he could return this evening when the team takes on the Philadelphia Flyers at the SAP Center—move lovingly known as the Shark Tank. The Sharks have seen their depth depleted over the last few weeks, so even getting a struggling player like Kennedy back is a plus at this juncture.
The news that the 27-year-old forward could be back in action against the Flyers comes from Kevin Kurz of CSNBayArea.com. As per his report:
Tyler Kennedy, who has missed the last two games with a lower body injury, could return to the lineup. Kennedy was one of only a few players to skate on Sunday at Sharks Ice. The majority of the team had off.
San Jose was mired in a small three-game slump prior to downing the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday. They’ll look to stay in the win column against a Philadelphia team that has that has also struggled lately—winning only two times in their last seven contests.
While the Sharks have been getting big contributions from the likes of Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski, their depth has been unable to hold up their end of the bargain since Tomas Hertl was injured December 19. With only 15 points in 49 games, San Jose would certainly like to see a bit more offense from Kennedy.
