George is the son of former Illinois quarterback Jeff George. George had a fantastic career at Illinois and was the top overall pick in the 1990 draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Of course, George’s career didn’t go the way many thought or hoped, but that is a different story.
Derek Piper of 24/7 Sports has more on George.
George led Warren High School to a state title in Indiana during his senior season. The 6’3, 190-pound quarterback displayed good arm strength, accuracy and mobility in his. Illinois was his only FBS offer, although he won’t receive a scholarship right away (grey shirt).
A grey shirt means that George won’t actually be put on scholarship until the spring semester.
The 6’3, 190-pound George attends Warren Central High School in Indianpolis, Indiana. He is considered the 100th best drop back quarterback prospect in the country, the 26th best overall prospect in the state of Indiana and the 2,220th best overall prospect in the class of 2014, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
