Jimmy Smith talks Bellator, WSOF co-promotion, his fighting career, and much more

Bellator has been on offseason since their November 22nd Bellator 109 event. That night, Alexander Shlemenko defeated Doug ‘The Rhino’ Marshall by TKO in the first round to retain his Bellator Middleweight championship. Although that was the last Bellator event, there has been no shortage of stories, fight announcements, and buzz surrounding Bellator over these past few months.

Bellator announced their full season 10 lineup and are set to return with Bellator 110 headlined by the opening round of the Light Heavyweight tournament. In the main event of the evening, former UFC and Pride veteran, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, will look for his second Bellator victory in as many fights when he takes on former Bellator Light Heavyweight champion, Christian M’Pumbu. Also featured on the card is the other tournament bout between former StrikeForce Light Heavyweight champion, King Mo Lawal, taking on Mikhail Zayats.

Before the season begins, I had the opportunity to sit down with Bellator’s play by play analyst and announcer, Jimmy Smith. In the video above, catch the entire interview where Smith talks all things Bellator, the World Series of Fighting’s pay per view challenge, title fights that he is excited about, the possibility of returning to the cage, the possibility of grappling Joe Rogan at Metamoris, TRT, and much more.
