Lakers at Timberwolves final score: Minnesota wins 109-99

Behind another huge game from Kevin Love, the Minnesota Timberwolves took down the Los Angeles Lakers 109-99 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota Thursday night.

Love scored 31 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and dished out three assists. He shot just eight-of-19 from the field, but got to the free throw line 18 times, knocking down 13.

Kevin Martin exploded for a game-high 32 points on 13-of-26 shooting to go with four assists and three rebounds while Ricky Rubio scored four points, dished out 13 assists and grabbed six rebounds.

The Timberwolves looked unstoppable in the first half, rolling up 38 points in the first quarter and 30 points in the second to take a 68-52 lead into the break.

The Lakers, however, battled back, cutting the lead to 11 by the end of the third quarter, but the Timberwolves never let the lead drop below seven and executed well down the stretch to ice the game.

The Lakers lost Jodie Meeks to a sprained ankle, Jordan Hill to a head injury and had Steve Blake play through a ruptured eardrum in his return.

Steve Nash, who also made his return, had seven points and nine assists in 25 minutes.

Nick Young led the Lakers with 24 points, Manny Harris had 19 points and eight rebounds and Wesley Johnson added 15 points and nine rebounds.

With the victory, the Timberwolves are now back to .500 at 24-24 and the Lakers are 16-32.
