Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu may very well be the most integral martial art in the sport of MMA. Every single fighter must utilize BJJ in order to succeed at the highest levels in this sport. Today, many MMA fighters compete in solely BJJ tournaments. Fighters like EddAlan Belcher, Benson Henderson, Vinny Magalhaes, and Brendan Schaub all compete at BJJ events.
One very successful BJJ event is Metamoris. Metamoris 3 will take place on March 29th and will be headlined by an epic rematch. Royler Gracie, the legendary jiu-jitsu master, will take on Eddie Bravo, the head of 10th planet jiu-jitsu. These men have a history in the jiu-jitsu world. At ADCC in 2003, Eddie Bravo took on Royler Gracie and submitted the legend via triangle in a colossal upset. Since then, Gracie practitioners have stated that the win was a fluke for Bravo. The rematch has been attempted to be put together before, but they could never come to an agreement. Finally, the two men will meet at Metamoris 3.
In preparation of the mammoth rematch, Metamoris has put together a UFC-esque countdown show featuring the two men in the main event. Watch Royler and Eddie explain their life as jiu-jitsu practitioners, train, teach, and prepare for the event in the video above.
