NBA Trade Rumors: Detroit Pistons refuse to budge on Greg Monroe trades

Despite multiple teams attempting to acquire Greg Monroe, the Detroit Pistons refuse to budge – this according to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders.

The Washington Wizards (among others) have expressed an interest in the former Georgetown product, but Kyler says the Pistons value Monroe far too much and see him as a long term asset moving forward.

Yes, the Pistons are that stubborn. They feel like Greg Monroe is an asset that fits long term. As for Josh Smith, not sure anyone takes that contract.

Trading Monroe would be a difficult move understandably as he’s proven himself to be one of the better young big men in the league. That said, they don’t exactly have a ton of tradeable assets outside of he and Andre Drummond, so you question how they’ll improve without moving one of those players.

Regardless, despite teams reportedly making offers for Monroe, it doesn’t appear the Detroit Pistons are ready to pull the trigger on any trades – at least not right now.
