The NBA trade deadline is just weeks away which means teams are starting to emerge as buyers and sellers. One of the teams we’re starting to hear more and more about are the injury-riddled New Orleans Pelicans. According to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo! Sports, injuries are forcing the Pelicans’ hand and they may have to make deals before the deadline.

The Pelicans were already being discussed in some potential trades but it appears now that they have had a rash of injuries that they’ll be more active than they were before. As Woj pointed out, the team has been active in recent days which is something that will only continue as the trade deadline approaches.

New Orleans doesn’t want to jettison certain players but the rash of injuries they’ve suffered may have forced their hand to deal big names.
