Could Rex Grossman be the next quarterback to line up under center for the Cleveland Browns?
It pains me to say it – so my advanced apologies Browns fans – but according to ESPN Cleveland, it’s possible Grossman could be a free agent target.
A more logical addition to the Browns’ ever-changing quarterback roster would be Rex Grossman, who is a free agent and wouldn’t cost a draft pick.
The Browns of course just hired Kyle Shanahan to be their offensive coordinator and Grossman has spent the last four seasons with Shanahan in Washington. That’s on top of the one season he spent with Houston when Kyle Shanahan worked with the Texans.
Of course, this rumor is nothing more than an educated guess by ESPN’s Tony Grossi at this point, so it’s far from certain such a move would take place, but it makes sense given the Browns need for a veteran quarterback and Shanahan’s ties to Grossman.
Thankfully it wouldn’t be anything more than a stop-gap, but I’m not sure that would help the night terrors in Cleveland.
