Rashad Vaughn announcing college decision Saturday

College football is at the center of the recruiting universe with national signing day one day away, but one of the top uncommitted basketball recruits will be making his announcement on Saturday when Rashad Vaughn (Minneapolis, Minn. Findlay Prep) pledges his commitment.

The 6-5 shooting guard is a five-star recruit, the No. 13 player in the nation and the No. 3 shooting guard according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He has one of the top perimeter games in the nation and is one of the top finishers with his shooting ability, penetration and athleticism. He is also a very promising defender.

Vaughn will choose from North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky, Iowa State and UNLV. He has previously taken official visits to UNLV on Nov. 25 and at Iowa State on Nov. 17 and it’s believed they are the two front-runners for his commitment.

Iowa State is the team to beat according to the crystal ball feature on 247Sports with the Cyclones holding 58 percent of the vote to only 25 for UNLV.

Vaughn was selected to the West squad in the McDonald’s All-American Game which is played Apr. 2 at the United Center in Chicago, Ill.
