Report: Bruins-Canadiens at Gillette Stadium under consideration for Stadium Series

Outdoor games are becoming all the rage in the NHL as teams are lining up to throw their hat in the mix to host a Winter Classic or Stadium Series game and the latest location who may land a Stadium Series game is Gillette Stadium in Foxboro where the New England Patriots call home.

The game would be between the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens according to Chris Botta.

Boston previously had an outdoor game at Fenway Park and while not many can compare to the tradition and history to the home of the Boston Red Sox, the potential for a game between these two rivals in a hockey-crazed region would be another rousing success for the NHL.

The Bruins have been rumored as a potential team to participate in the Winter Classic next year, so the likelihood of being selected for both is remote and the Philadelphia Flyers could then slot in and face the Washington Capitals, according to CBS Sports.

Can you imagine 70,000 fans watching one of the oldest rivalries in the NHL at the home Tom Brady built?
