Manchester United made one of the largest splashes in the January transfer window when they acquired Spanish midfielder Juan Mata from Chelsea. United legend Ryan Giggs thinks Mata could establish himself as one of the club’s greats as well.
From Sky Sports:
Giggs insists Mata has what it takes to make the grade at United and when asked if he could become a United great, the Welshman told MUTV: “I think he could be.
“He’s obviously got the talent. I don’t want to put too much pressure on him but I don’t see why not.”
Giggs also thinks his arrival can inspire United and bring in excitment.
“The players are just like the fans,” added Giggs. ”When they see a quality player come through the door, it gives them that excitement and you feel it around training. It gives everybody a lift.
“We’ve played against him for the last three years and know the quality he has got.”
