It was expected that Steve Nash was going to be back for  the Los Angeles Lakers’ Tuesday night game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, but head coach Mike D’Antoni wasn’t going to guarantee that he was going to play. However, less than 24 hours after making those comments, Steve Nash is set to officially make his return to the Lakers lineup.

Nash will play the first five-to-eight minutes of the game before sitting for the remainder of the first half. He will then, as long as things stay according to the plan, play the same amount of time in the second half.

The return of Steve Nash is good news for a Lakers team that continues to deal with injuries during a disappointing, and likely playoff-less, 2013-2014 season.

Though Nash will play tonight, he is expected to sit out Wednesday night’s game against Cleveland as a precautionary measure to avoid any chance of aggravation to the injured back.

Steve Blake is also set to return to the Lakers tonight who continue to be without Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol.
