Lorenzo Carter (Norcross, Ga. Norcross) was the No. 1 priority for the Georgia Bulldogs for the past few months and on national signing day, the five-star defensive end committed to Mark Richt and the Bulldogs over the LSU Tigers, Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles.

The 6-5, 232-pound Carter who has 4.63 speed is a big, tall, rangy and athletic player who can line up in a two-point stance and rush the quarterback from an outside linebacker position immediately as a freshman but will have to bulk up another 25 pounds or so to be an every down player to lend support in the run game.
He should have no issue doing that and should be a nightmare for opposing offensive tackles to block for the next three-four years with his freakish athleticism for a player his size. Also a basketball player, Carter has a great first step and his closing speed allows him to sack quarterbacks at a high rate.
Carter is the nation’s No. 18 player overall, No. 2 weakside defensive end and the No. 1 player in the Peach State. The addition of Carter moves Georgia ahead of the Florida Gators for the 8th best class in the nation and sixth in the SEC.
