The World Series of Fighting has a great mix of up and coming talent alongside tried and true MMA veterans. Today, one of WSOF’s veterans called out their Lightweight champion and rising prospect, Justin Gaethje.
Luis Palomino took to Twitter to call out Gaethje in hopes of getting a shot at the World Series of Fighting Lightweight championship:
Palomino responded to the above message from the WSOF with this:
They are asking so let them have it…. Pls dnt just like, comment who would u like to see the @worldseriesoffighting champion fight. I’m ready to take his belt any day given the opportunity.
Palomino had a successful World Series of Fighting debut last month at WSOF 8. Palomino knocked out Jorge Patino in the second round with a hellacious combination and ground and pound. Later that night, Gaethje became the first ever World Series of Fighting Lightweight champion when he defeated Richard Patishnock by TKO in the very first round.
It is likely that the WSOF will give Nick Newell the next shot at Gaethje, but Palomino could possibly be next in line. Newell is 11-0, including two victories inside the World Series of Fighting, in his unprecedented career. It will be interesting to see if Newell or Palomino get the shot at the Lightweight belt.
