MLB Rumors: Milwaukee Brewers interested in Francisco Rodriguez, Carlos Marmol?

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Seeking help in the back of the bullpen, the Milwaukee Brewers might still be interested in making some moves in free agency between now and Spring Training.

In their search for reinforcements in the bullpen, the Brewers are apparently also interested in some excitement. We are talking the Francisco Rodriguez and Carlos Marmol kind of excitement. Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the following:

Marmol, of course, has the highest walk rate of all active pitchers. K-Rod showed a bit more predictability last year, especially during a stint with the Brewers during which he re-established his value before a trade to the Baltimore Orioles.

Neither pitcher is short on talent; both are still plus pitchers in terms of their stuff. But for a team that has seen trouble closing out games in recent years, including the downfall of John Axford, these guys would certainly be adventurous.
