Javon Harrison (Lakeland, Fla. Kathleen) has committed to the Florida State Seminoles as Jimbo Fisher’s club has closed well on national signing day and own the No. 4 recruiting class in the nation and the top class in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The four-star athlete had been committed to the Virginia Tech Hokies since 2012, but the writing had been on the wall for a while that the 6-1, 187-pound wide receiver/cornerback would be headed to Tallahassee.

Harrison took his official visit to Florida State on Jan. 17 and then followed that up with his trip to Blacksburg, but it wasn’t enough to keep his pledge as he signed with the Noles today.

Harrison may have an easier time seeing playing time early in his career on defense with the signings of five-star receivers Ermon Lane and Travis Rudolph. Florida State doesn’t have any cornerback recruits, so he may find that the quickest way to the starting lineup is in the defensive backfield.
