Autry’s brother, Anthony, currently plays wide receiver for the Yellow Jackets and earlier in the process, Autry said that could play a part in his decision.
“My brother going there (to Georgia Tech). That’s a big thing,” Autry told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. And Georgia is a good school, they are one of my top schools (as I cut) down schools right now. I mean, everybody wants me to go to Georgia, and some people want me to go to Georgia Tech. Some people say if I go to Georgia, it would be a bigger headline with me and my brother going against each other — rather than us playing against each other. I (will) be thinking sometimes ‘I like Georgia and my brother goes to Georgia Tech.’
On Wednesday, Autry admitted that played a big role and also cited the coaches and proximity to home as reason he picked the Yellow Jackets.
The 5’9, 175-pound Autry is considered the 31st best athlete prospect in the class of 2014, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Autry could wind up on defense, but looks best suited as a wide receiver. He told ESPNU he could play A-Back in Georgia Tech’s system and would return kicks and punters.
