Virginia Tech Hokies lost the commitment of Ja’Von Harrison but did pick up the commitment of four-star athlete Raymon Minor (Richmond, Va. Benedictine) to their class of 2014 which ranks 29th in the nation and No. 5 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The 6-3, 210-pound Minor is the No. 19 athlete in the country and the No. 245 recruit in the nation according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Minor chose Virginia Tech over the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Marshall Thundering Herd.

Minor’s official visit to Blacksburg on Jan. 31 when the Hokies separated themselves from his other suitors. Shane Beamer was his primary recruiter.

Minor had some academic concerns to monitor and it was possible he would wait beyond signing day to sign with a school, but by signing with Virginia Tech today, his test scores were good enough to qualify, otherwise he was likely headed to Marshall.
