National Signing Day: 4-Star WR Mark Andrews signs with Oklahoma Sooners

Four-star wide receiver Mark Andrews has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Oklahoma Sooners next season. Andrews was named a four-star recruit by 247sports.com, Rivals.com, ESPN.com and Scout.com. As a senior at Desert Mountain in Scottsdale he recorded 1,122 yards receiving on 68 receptions with 17 touchdowns.

Those numbers were actually down from his junior year when he had 81 receptions for 1,494 yards and 21 touchdowns. As a three year starter he put up solid numbers as a sophomore as well, caught 58 passes for 1,058 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Andrews also played for the West in the Army All-American game and had offers from Alabama, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State and USC.

He is being touted as a wide receiver, but was listed as one of the best tight ends in the country.

“He’s obviously a big, physical, athletic wide receiver. He’s extremely intelligent. He’s highly productive,” Co-OC/WR Coach Jay Norvell said, via the team’s website. “He played with Kyle Allen, the top quarterback prospect who went to Texas A&M, so they were childhood teammates. He’s a go-to guy. He’s a big play receiver and highly productive.”
