National Signing Day: DL Dwayne Orso has signed with Oklahoma Sooners

Birmingham, Alabama three-star recruit (according to ESPN.com and 247sports.com) and defensive lineman Dwayne Orso had previously committed himself to the University of Oklahoma but made it official by signing his National Letter of Intent today. He was the No. 40 player in Alabama according to ESPN.com and the No. 82 defensive end according to 247 sports.com.

As a senior in high school he recorded 45 tackles, 22 of which were solo and 9.5 tackles for a loss.

“He is a basketball player, too. He is very athletic,” DL Coach Jerry Montgomery said, via Oklahoma’s website. “I wouldn’t say he is straight-line fast, but he is quicker than he is fast. When he gets a chance to get in the weight room and develop, he is going to be a massive four-technique that can play between the tackles and hold the point of attack.”
