NBA Rumors: Philadelphia 76ers will need 'huge' offer to trade Thaddeus Young

While the Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly open to moving both Spencer Hawes and Evan Turner, acquiring forward Thaddeus Young will be a bit more difficult – at least according to ESPN’s Chad Ford.

Ford, holding one of his weekly chat’s, suggested that the Sixers are open to moving Young – but will only do so if they receive a ‘huge’ offer in return.

Yes. The Sixers are expected to be prime players in the next few weeks. But I think they’ll avoid trading Young unless they get a huge offer. Hawes and Turner, however, can be had for much less. Sixers goal is not only to pick up assets, but make sure they stay competitive with the Bucks and Magic for the No. 1 pick.

The 25-year-old forward brings with him a defensive skill set not often seen in young wings, so he’s quite valuable just for that. Add in his offensive ability and it’s understandable why the Sixers aren’t rushing to move Young. Of course, he’s not exactly cheap, but it appears the Sixers are content with keeping him on the roster for now given he’s signed long term and is unlikely to lose any value moving forward.
