The Phoenix Suns seemed to put the brakes on all Pau Gaosl trade talks with the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday after it was discovered that the Lakers big man would need to miss additional time to heal his groin injury he recently suffered. But while the Suns are taking a look at all their options, the Lakers still believe that the trade talks will lead somewhere, but they’re not a lock to land the Suns coveted trade package.

The Philadelphia 76ers appear to be interested in trading for the Suns draft picks and Emeka Okafor’s contract, and that could end up being a problem for the Lakers. Evan Turner might be a better trade chip at the moment than the injured Gasol, but the Suns are clearly keeping all their options open.

Gasol being traded to Phoenix is still very possible, injury hangups and all. But Los Angeles isn’t a lock to trade Gasol at all, something Lakers fans have become accustomed to over the years.
