Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate is set to hit free agency in March, fresh off of the team’s dominating win over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII. As a Super Bowl champion, Tate will receive plenty of interest from around the league, but he has his eyes set on a return to Seattle.

Not only does Tate prefer to re-sign with the Seahawks, but he would be willing to give them a hometown discount.

“I probably shouldn’t even say this right now but I’m going to say it anyway just because I love Seattle, honestly,” said Tate on Sports Radio 950 KJR. “I would rather take a little less to be happy and win ballgames than to take way more and go to a crappy city where the fans don’t give a crap about the team.”

Of course, once Tate and his agent see some of the offers out on the open market, he could decide that he isn’t willing to significantly cut his asking price and that may result in him still being too expensive for the Seahawks to afford.
