The UFC has been busy this week announcing tons of fights for multiple different cards. One of the main cards the UFC is filling up is the UFC on FOX 11 event that will be held in Orlando on April 19th. Yesterday, the UFC announced two exciting matchups for the card. Two Lightweights looking to get back on the winning track will meet as Jorge Masvidal takes on Pat Healy. Two Middleweights look to keep their winning streaks alive as Brad Tavares takes on Yoel Romero.
Jorge Masvidal (25-8, 2-1 UFC) is coming off a tough decision loss to Rustam Khabilov back at UFC Fight for the Troops 3. Since coming over from StrikeForce, Masvidal has quickly cemented himself as an exciting young contender in the UFC’s Lightweight division. Pat Healy (31-17 (1), 0-2 (1)) is currently on a two fight skid and has not looked good since his win over Jim Miller was overturned due to testing positive for Marijuana metabolites. At UFC on FOX 11, Healy will look to reverse the trend against Masvidal.
Brad Tavares (12-1, 7-1 UFC) and Yoel Romero (7-1, 3-0 UFC) are both coming off big wins at UFC Fight Night 35. Tavares defeated Lorenz Larkin by decision in the co-main event while Romero defeated Derek Brunson by TKO in a fantastic fight. Tavares has won five straight and has become a dark horse contender in the UFC’s Middleweight division. Romero has won all three of his UFC bouts by way of TKO/KO and is quickly moving up the Middleweight ladder. A big win by either man in this bout could be looking at a top 5 or 10 opponent next.
