RB CJ Jones signs with UCF Knights

The University of Central Florida has landed running back C.J. Jones out of Atlantic high school from Daytona Beach. He measures 5-10 and 195 lbs.

-Coached by Tim Smith at Atlantic High School where he was a running back and strong safety
-Listed as the No. 62 running back by ESPN, which also put him with three stars
-Also a three-star recruit by Rivals
-Picked up first-team all-county distinction in 2013
-Was the school’s football team MVP in 2010, 2012 and 2013
-Totaled 1,250 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior, and chipped in 207 receiving yards
-Miami Herald named him to the 2013 Season Preview All-North Atlantic Team
-Rushed for 1,150 yards and 11 touchdowns with 225 receiving yards and 37 tackles in 2012 where he picked up second-team all-county honors
-Atlantic reached the 2012 FHSAA 5A regional quarterfinals
-Atlantic’s running back of the year in 2011, rushing for 756 yards in six games, and also had 47 tackles with an interception
-Galloped for 996 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns as a freshman, and amassed 78 tackles with an interception
-Ran the first leg of the 4×100 relay team which won the district title his freshman year
-Member of the Leadership Club and National Honor Society, received the Mr. AHS Award, advanced to the mock trial state qualifications and was selected as homecoming king
-Received an offer from Florida Atlantic, and interest from Florida, Florida State, NC State and USF
