Sochi 2014: Jamaican Bobsleigh team lose luggage, miss training

The Jamaican bobsleigh team have missed training on the bobsleigh track in Sochi, after their luggage was lost on the way to Russia.

The two-man team, made up of driver Winston Watts and brakeman Marvin Dixon, will compete at Sochi as the first Jamaican team to qualify for the Winter Olympics in 12 years.

“It’s really frustrating,” said 46-year-old Watts. “We have just got all the funding together and have arrived at the Olympics but then this happens.”

So far, in their quest to get to Sochi the Jamaican team have struggled to qualify, been told they wouldn’t be allowed to compete, and now aren’t able to practice because they don’t have equipment. Haven’t we heard this one before?
