The 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games begin in the wee hours of the morning on Thursday, with televised coverage taking place Thursday night on NBC in primetime. To bring in the Olympic Games, NBC will be counting on some star power to pump up the crowd.

Since “winter is coming,” it is only appropriate that NBC uses a star from the HBO hit show Game of Thrones to kick off their coverage.

NBC Olympics executive producer Jim Bell announced that Peter Dinklage, who plays Peter Dinklage on Game of Thrones, will be the voice of the opening cut scene when NBC prepares for the Opening Ceremony.

The opening ceremony airs Friday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

While we will have to wait until Friday to hear Dinklage’s opening scene, here are the events that will open the games on Thursday morning:

Thursday, February 6

Figure skating: Team men’s and pairs short program

Freestyle skiing: Women’s moguls

Snowboarding: Men’s and women’s slopestyle

Topics: 2014 Winter Olympics, Game Of Thrones, Sochi Olympics
