It was a big day in the college football world as recruits everywhere signed their letters of intent and faxed them in. During a press conference with new Texas Longhorns head coach was asked about his in-state rivals, the Texas A&M Aggies, and their head coach. He had some interesting comments to make.

From the Dallas Morning News:

“We are still the University of Texas and will always be the flagship university of this state,” he said.

Strong was also asked about A&M, coach Kevin Sumlin and the program’s infamous ‘swagcopter’ on Tuesday. His response?

“The university speaks for itself. We don’t need gadgets. We’re not going to be a gadget program.”

Shots fired. The Longhorns and Aggies duked it out in recruiting, but the Aggies look to have had the edge with their classes ranking in the top six spots according to Rivals and 247 Sports. The Longhorns had the 19th and 16th ranked class by comparison.
